#lastweekssurgeryscarredhimemotionally #theyshavedhiseyelashesoff #idpanictoo Most often, individual trials require us to, on some level, bear the brunt of it alone. Even God carried His own cross alone right? There is design in that. It presents me with a choice: will I look down and grow hardened and burdened and frustrated and deem my life unfair, or will I embrace this change of plans, adjust my own attitudes, and if needed, correct my own course? Will I see it as an opportunity, since no human can truly walk my personal road and experience my personal shoes, to look up and invite the God who granted me this path to show me the way? Will I glorify Him anyways if it's not the path I had envisioned?

At times I have lost focus and looked down, or back or away from the Light in my moments of fear, sadness, or sense of loss. But I do try to keep looking forward and up most of the time. And when I do, I see no loss. Only gains. Only joy. Only gratitude. No station in life is too wretched to withhold gratitude to God, who shines light into the darkest of places if we allow it. Even upon our backs as we carry the darkest of our crosses. "Wherefore, turn yourselves, and live ye." (Ezek 18:32)
